Rotted trim, damaged fascia, soft soffit, splintering decking, deteriorated columns, and structural wood that's given up on you. We replace it with material that will actually last — and address why it failed in the first place.
Request an AssessmentWood damage happens everywhere water finds a way in. Homes and commercial buildings both need the same thing: identify the source, replace the damage, prevent the recurrence.
Rotted exterior trim, failing fascia and soffit, splintering decks, deteriorated wood columns, damaged door and window frames, water-damaged floor framing — the range of carpentry needs we handle across DFW homes.
Storefront trim, wood facade elements, exterior detail work, and structural wood repair on commercial buildings. We schedule carefully to minimize disruption to business operations.
Rot doesn't appear randomly. It happens at penetrations, transitions, and details that weren't sealed or drained properly. Here's where we most often find it.
Exterior window trim, door casings, corner boards, and freize trim. Usually the first place moisture finds its way behind paint.
Where the roof meets the wall. Failed gutters, missing drip edge, or bad flashing take out fascia boards fast in Dallas humidity.
Deck boards, joists, rim boards, stair stringers, and railing systems. We repair or rebuild sections rather than defaulting to full replacement.
Wood columns and porch posts sitting directly on concrete or brick almost always rot at the base. We replace with proper standoff hardware.
When water damage reaches floor joists, wall studs, or roof framing, the repair goes beyond cosmetic. We handle the structural rebuild.
Baseboards, crown molding, door casings, and window trim inside the home. Damage repair or full replacement to match existing profiles.
Any carpenter can rip out rotten wood and put new wood in its place. That doesn't fix the underlying leak, and six months from now the new wood is rotting too. Here's what we do differently.
Before we replace anything, we identify why the rot happened — bad flashing, failed caulk, gutter overflow — and address it as part of the repair.
Where appropriate, we upgrade to PVC trim, composite deck boards, or pressure-treated lumber so the replacement outlasts the original.
Every cut edge gets primed. Every joint gets caulked. Every penetration gets flashed. It's slow. It's why the work lasts.
Poke suspect areas with a screwdriver. Sound wood pushes back firmly. Rotten wood gives way easily, feels spongy, or crumbles. Bubbling paint, dark stains, or visible cracks around windows, doors, or fascia usually mean water has been getting in for a while.
Depends on how far it's spread. Small isolated rot can often be patched with epoxy consolidant. Once rot has reached structural wood or spread across a large area, replacement is the right call. We give you the honest assessment before quoting.
For high-moisture areas (near ground, water tables, around gutters), PVC trim is worth the extra cost — it never rots. For dry, elevated locations, quality primed wood with proper sealing holds up fine and costs less. We recommend based on the specific application.
Sometimes. Storm-caused damage (hail, wind, fallen limbs) is usually covered. Slow leaks and long-term rot generally aren't, since insurance covers sudden damage, not maintenance issues. We help document whichever type applies.
A single fascia section: half a day. Whole-house fascia and soffit: 3–7 days. Deck rebuild: 1–3 weeks depending on size. Structural repair after major water damage: variable, but we scope it clearly before starting.
Rotten trim, damaged fascia, failing deck, structural repair — we'd be glad to take a look, diagnose why it happened, and put together honest numbers.
